Welcome back to the blog! Wow I can't be its the 19th October already, we have done so much this month! October (Spooky season) is generally a busy time for us! If you don't believe me just head over to our family YouTube channel, Bandy's Jukebox to see what I mean!
So October is in full swing, the weather is changing, Mother Nature is in flux and you can see and feel this every time you step out the front door.
During Halloween this year a game of 'Halloween Tag' has started and I was nominated by Becky from Theunicornmummy.com

1. What's your favourite thing about October?
I'm going to give three answers for this question and that's condensing it down! The first thing may sound a bit weird, but I absolutely love the weather at this time of year.
I love the coldness, the rain, the autumn/winter storms and especially when the nights are windy. I love to sleep with the windows open too!
The second thing is
seeing how much nature changes, almost sometimes over night! The green colours fade out and make way for a cascade of browns, oranges and somewhere in between.
My final thing is Halloween. Who doesn't love Halloween?! In our house its a major holiday, I actually think bigger than Christmas! We go all out for it, usually decorating the house, inside and out, and doing trick or treating. Halloween also happens to be our wedding anniversary, not many people can say that! 6 years ago I married my best friend, and guess what, she's as mad as me! PERFECT!!
2. Are you a big celebrator of Halloween?
I can only answer this with one word: YES!! See answer to Q1!
3. What’s your favourite horror movie?
Ever since I saw the first Annabelle film I have been hooked on the stories and films inspired by Ed and Lorraine Warren.
I have seen all the films a dozen times, but my most favourite out of the series is The Conjuring 2.
This film is based on the real life events of the Enfield Hauting, which took place in 1977 in Enfield, near London. A paranormal entity started haunting the family home of Peggy Hodgson and her 4 children.
One of the girls in the family claimed she was being possesed by a Poltergeist. One of the most famous pictures taken during the invesitgation shows her being thrown across the room.
This film is full of jump scares and the old man ghost in the film creeps me out no end! Especially when Bex mimics his voice, usually late at night and usually just before we go to bed!
4. Would you rather a cosy night in watching horrors or a big night out in a costume?
I love a good movie night, but I do love a good costume party, tough one! I think because I haven't been out for so long I would opt for the big night out!
5. Which has been your most favourite costume to date?
This was me in 2006 dressed a Beetlejuice. This photo was taken just after and my housemate at Uni won a costume party at bar in Carlisle. We were invited up onto the stage by the DJ to dance to Thriller!
We were both giving a bottle of house 'champagne' and we celebrated with two cigars!
6. Bobbing for apples or pin the hat on the witch?
Don't really like bobbing for apples, gets my beard soaked, so pin the hat on the witch please!
7. How do you celebrate Halloween?
Halloween celebrations start for us on 1st October, this year it actually started in August! We dressed the house, inside and out, get the trick or treat bucket ready and we usually stay in. With it being our anniversary we usually get a takeaway in, have a couple of drinks and enjoy the spectacle of all the neighbourhood kids dressed up. Oh course we're decked out too in our Halloween finery! We usually conclude the night with a scary film under the duvet!
8. What’s your least favourite horror?
The Blair Witch. Enough said.
9. Do you have a favourite trick or treating memory?
2019 was the first time that Charlie kind of understood what Halloween is and what it's all about.
My favourite trick or treating memory is this one, taking him trick or treating for the 1st time.
He dressed as a little monster and he looked so flippin' cute!
10. What’s your favourite thing about Halloween?
I love decorating the house and creating our displays outside. I love hearing the comments from passers-by!
11. Scary costume or Silly costume?
I haven't done scary since 2007, I do love dressing up with the makeup and fake blood! Think this maybe on the cards for next year!
12. What’s your favourite Halloween candy?
All of it! Don't have a favourite!
13. Will you be Trick or Treating this year? If not what other fun activities have you got planned?
We will be offering a very special socially distance Trick or Treat experience at our house this year, a flying pumpkin scarecrow is going to deliver our candy to anyone who comes by the house via a pulley system. I'm not sure if our neighbours are doing anything this year, but me and Charlie will definitely be heading out to see what we can find!
